William O. “Bill” Tomberlin, 82, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Thursday, August 11, 2022, at Dorminy Medical Center in Fitzgerald, Georgia.
Memorial services will be held 2 PM, Sunday, August 14, 2022, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald, with the family officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mr. Tomberlin was born November 14, 1939, in Ben Hill County, Georgia, to the late John Henry Tomberlin and the late Elva Wright Tomberlin Simmons. Mr. Tomberlin worked in the orange groves and in road maintenance. He lived a very adventurous life and was a free spirit. Mr. Tomberlin was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by siblings: Gussie Hawkins of Rochelle, John W. Tomberlin & Emma Jane of Valdosta, Bruce Tomberlin & Juanita of Macon, Helon Love of Fitzgerald; Betty Bex of Port Orange, Florida and Mary Emma Tomberlin of Titusville, Florida. A number of nieces, nephews and additional family members also survive. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Jean Tomberlin; a brother, Robert Tomberlin and a sister, Mayme Jane Tomberlin.
