Elizabeth “Betty” (Young) Archer, 93, a resident of Medway for the past 60 years, died peacefully on Thursday, August 11, 2022 at the Timothy Daniels House in Holliston. She was the beloved wife of George F. Archer who died in 2011.
Born in Hartford, Connecticut on November 26, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Mary (Beauchamp) Young.
Betty worked at the Medway Country Manor for ten years until her retirement and had previously worked at Pratt and Whitney in Connecticut.
Betty had served on the Medway Board of Registrars for town elections and was a past-president and member of the Medway Women’s Club. When her children were young, she helped with the St. Joseph CYO Band, decorating floats with the Rojee family, and volunteered with and supported the Medway High School Soccer Booster’s Club.
She is survived by her children, Gary Archer of Richmond, RI, Gail Corbett and her husband David of Medway, Scott Archer and his wife Jacqueline of Newburyport and Todd Archer and his wife Courtney of Flower Mound, TX.
She was predeceased by her daughter Debra Archer, her daughter-in-law Janice Archer and three siblings.
She is also survived by nine grandchildren, Nick, Stacy, Adam, Courtney, Sarah, Matthew, Ryan, Grace and Lillie.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Mass on Wednesday, August 17 at St. Joseph Church, 151 Village St. in Medway at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Medway.
