Obituary

Shirley May Blaize (née Todd) of Anderson, Indiana passed Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at the age of 79. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Todd, and her mother, Ruth Todd. Shirls was survived by her three children: Jennifer Kishish (James Kishish), Jason Blaize (Angela Blaize) and Jeffrey Blaize (Michele Blaize); five grandchildren: Eli Kishish, Addison Kishish, Nicholas Blaize, Gabe Ebarb, Joey Ebarb and Sinjin Blaize; and her long-time significant other, Norm Owens.

Shirley was born in Pendleton, Indiana on September 5, 1942. She was named by her parents after Shirley Temple. Shirley graduated from Pendleton High School and worked at Delco Remy, Division of General Motors for 5 years. At Delco Remy, she was crowned Miss Delco Remy at the new Killbuck Park. At Delco, she also met her former husband, Carl E. Blaize - who she shared three children with. Shirley was very creative and would pass that creativity on to all 3 of her children. She always ensured her children had the best leaf collections or any other school assignments completed to perfection. While in New Jersey in the 1980s, she pursued a career in real estate - and continued on that path when she moved back to Indiana. Later, she got dual Bachelor's degrees from Anderson University in Accounting and Business Management in 1993. Shirley had a great sense of humor and was affectionately referred to as "Shirls" along with many other names by her kids and their friends. Friends have countless classic and great stories of being around Shirls. She was a comedy show. She was corny. She was goofy - all the way until the last conversation before she passed. There's a saying that was probably directed towards Shirls many times - that she would probably be late to her own funeral. Unfortunately, for once, it appears like she is not only on time, but she is way too early.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 with Rev. Corinne Boruff officiating. Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM prior to the service on Tuesday.

Memorial contributions may be given to Susan G. Komen Foundation.
