Obituary

George F. Oliver, 83, of Dartmouth died Thursday May 11, 2006 at St. Luke's Hospital after a long illness. He was the husband of Frances L. (Jenkins) Oliver.

Born in New Bedford, the son of the late George F. and Clara (Parker) Oliver, he lived in Dartmouth for many years.

He was a member of the Smith Mills Congregational Church.

Mr. Oliver was formerly employed in graphic arts.

During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army in the European Theater and was awarded the Purple Heart medal. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Andrews-Dahill Post 1531.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Michael Oliver of Sarasota, Florida; a daughter, Judith Lavoie of Fairhaven; a brother, Leonard A. Oliver of Dartmouth; and two grandchildren.



His Memorial Service will be held on Saturday May 20, 2006 at 11 AM at the Smith Mills Congregational Church.
