Obituary



Carmine Martiniello, longtime resident of Medford, passed away on Monday, August 8th. He was 93. Born and raised in Mirabella, Eclano, Italy, he was the son of the late Giovanni and Raffaela (Pelligrino) Martiniello.

Carmine loved spending time with his family and friends. He especially loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Carmine’s family were his pride and joy, they were his world. Carmine enjoyed traveling with his wife Adelina. They vacationed in Italy, Australia, Venezuela, and the Panama Canal. They also went on several cruises and spent winters down in Deerfield Beach, FL.

When Carmine was not spending time with his family or traveling the world with Adelina, you could find him in his garden. He had a natural green thumb, all flowers and veggies were constantly blooming and growing. He was especially proud of his fig tree which he cultivated over the last 50 years. Carmine took great pride in canning his prized tomatoes and bottling his homemade wine. He was generous and always shared the abundance of veggies, fruits, and wine with his family and friends.

Carmine was the beloved husband of 50 years to the late Adelina Martiniello. He was the devoted father of John Martiniello and his wife Bobbie of Medford, Lina Regan and her husband Teddy of Stoneham, and Anna McHardy and her husband Pat of Andover. He was the loving Nonno of Danny Martiniello and his wife Tanya, Olivia (Martiniello) Lambert and her husband Wes, John Martiniello, Michael Regan, Brendan Regan, Patrick McHardy and Amanda McHardy. He was the great Nonno of Jack, Emma and Maya Martiniello, and the dear brother of Ciriaco Martiniello and his wife Philomena, Chiara Rossetti and her late husband John, Mario Martiniello and his wife Yolanda, the late Giuseppe Martiniello and his wife Angelina and the late Ernesto and Gracie Martiniello. He also leaves many more loving family members across the US, Italy and Australia.

Funeral from Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Monday, August 15th at 9 AM, followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner St., Medford, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Sunday from 4 to 8 PM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
