Obituary

Bridgewater- Charles V. Texeira, 84, of Bridgewater, formerly of Taunton, died Monday, May 15, 2006, at Brockton Hospital. He was the husband of the late Elinor (Nash) Texeira.

Born Jan. 30, 1922, in Taunton, he was the son of the late Joaquim and Laura (Vaz) Texeira.

Raised and educated in Taunton, Mr. Texeira was a graduate of Taunton schools.

He was a painter for the state at Bridgewater State Farm, retiring many years ago.

Previously, Mr. Texeira was a painter at Carver Cotton Gin in East Bridgewater.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having served in the Philippines.

Mr. Texeira had been a Bridgewater resident for more than 30 years, coming from Taunton.

He was a member of the Golden Ages and Bridgewater VFW 2125 and enjoyed gardening.

He is survived by his daughter, Cheryl Vervates of Danvers; his grandsons, Harry and Charles; 2 sisters, Lydia Borges and Rose Cabral, both of Taunton. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Alfred and Larry Texeira.

Funeral service in the Prophett Funeral Home, 98 Bedford St. (Rte. 18), Bridgewater, Friday at 10 am. Visiting hours Thursday 4-8 pm. Burial in Mt. Prospect Cemetery.
