William C. Robinson, 93, of New Bedford passed away Monday August 8, 2022 at home after a period of declining health. He was the husband of the late Caroline F. (Roche) Robinson.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late William J. and Mary J. (Williams) Robinson, he lived in New Bedford for most of his life.
Bill was formerly employed as a food technologist for American Can Company, Hersey Corporation, and A.D. Little in Cambridge, and later as a locksmith and security advisor for N.P. Hayes Company in New Bedford until his retirement.
He was a graduate of New Bedford High School and the University of Massachusetts – Amherst with a Bachelor’s degree in Food Science.
He served in the Army Reserves for many years retiring as a Lt. Colonel. He was called to active duty during the Korean War. After his retirement, he enjoyed volunteering at the Ft. Taber - Ft. Rodman Military Museum.
He is survived by his son, David W. Robinson; and several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late John F. Robinson and Helen Vincent.
His committal service will be held on Monday September 19, 2022 at 12:45 PM at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. Arrangements are by the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. For online condolence book, please visit www.saundersdwyer.com.
