Linda Sue (Dickson) Georgilas, 72, of Whitman, Massachusetts passed away peacefully on August 1 after an eleven-year courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Everett, Massachusetts in 1950 and daughter to James Dickson and Julia (Sommers) Dickson, she spent her youth in Natick.
Linda graduated from Massasoit Community College with her Associate in Science in Computer Science and then obtained her Associate in Science in Physical Therapist Assistant from Lasell College. A retired Physical Therapist Assistant, Linda has dedicated countless hours and support to the many patients she has so beautifully helped over her career. She was well loved and admired by all her patients who were fortunate enough to have her as their therapist. Linda led her life with strength and love.
Her true passion in life was her family. Her beautiful, loving family was her greatest joy. During Linda’s free time, you could find her creating a beautiful masterpiece whether it be through sewing, quilting, or knitting. Her talent in this area was unmatched and knew no limits. Linda created so many beautiful handmade items over the years. If you were lucky enough to happen by while she was baking, you would be treated to the most enormous and delicious chocolate chip cookie. In addition to creating and baking, she was also a collector of many beautiful things. She enjoyed collecting pottery and in particular were her favorite Bunny and Santa Claus collections. A true animal lover, Linda adored her many cats and dogs over all the years of her life.
A devoted and loving wife, mother, family member, and friend, Linda leaves behind many well-loved family and friends. As is often the case with soul mates, Linda’s beloved husband, James “Jimmy” Christopher Georgilas, Jr. of Whitman, passed away peacefully only five days following Linda’s peaceful passing. Linda is preceded in death by her loving son, Jason Christopher Georgilas of Whitman. Linda is survived by her loving daughter Stacy Georgilas of Whitman. Linda is also survived by many other family and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Tuesday August 9 from 5:00-7:00 PM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman and her graveside service on Wednesday August 10 at 11:00 AM in the Colebrook Cemetery, Essex Street, Whitman.
