Florence H.L. (Sharpe) Keris a longtime resident of Needham died on Monday May 15th at Newfield House in Plymouth. She was 91 years old. Mrs. Keris taught elementary school in Newton at the Claflin and Horace Mann schools from 1936-1939. In 1939 she married her late husband Stephen J. Keris and moved to Needham. She was a resident of Needham for 58 years. In 1964 she opened “Off The Record”, a music shop in Needham Center. Mrs. Keris owned “Off The Record” until 1979. She was a 45-year member of the Carter Memorial United Methodist Church.
The beloved wife for 53 years of the late Stephen J. Keris, she leaves her children Patricia Ann Corbo of Littleton CO and Stephen J. Keris Jr. of Plymouth, and her brother George Sharpe of Derry NH. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. A Funeral Service will be held at the Eaton Funeral Home 1351 Highland Ave. Needham on Thurs. May 18 at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hour prior to the service 10-11 AM. Interment will follow at Needham Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in Florence’s name may be made to the American Heart Association 20 Speen Street, Framingham MA 01701.
