Obituary

Patricia (Martin) Boulos passed away peacefully on July 26, 2022 after a long illness. Born in Portland, ME in 1945 to Mary L. and Louis “Woody” Martin, Pat lived most of her adult life in Norwell, MA, and since 2000 in her beloved city of Boston. Pat graduated from Deering High School in Portland, ME. She earned her bachelor’s degree from UMass Boston and her master’s degree in Library Science from Simmons University.

Pat was a person of many interests and accomplishments, always up for an adventure. The life of any party, she loved to laugh and she was quite funny. Very athletic in her early life, Pat played tennis, swam, skied, traveled and enjoyed European biking trips. She loved to walk her city and you can bet that no shoe or handbag store went unexplored. Pat began her career in Norwell, MA working as a Photo Archivist. After moving to Boston, she began her “dream job” as the Head of Digital Programs at the Boston Athenaeum where she built many friendships and gained great respect. She retired after 20 years there due to ill health.

Pat loved living in her Fenway neighborhood and spending quality time with good friends at her favorite local watering hole, Thornton’s Fenway Grille.

Pat raised her kids Mark and Lisa in Norwell, MA. They were her pride and joy. Besides her children, she loved babies, NYT Crosswords, books, dancing, art, Ketel One, the Patriots, the Red Sox, beauty of all kinds, her friends, Facebook…so many things. She was loved and will be missed by so many.

Pat was predeceased by her son Mark Boulos (d.2018) and her brother Jon Martin (d.2019). She is survived by her daughter Lisa Boulos (Culver City,Ca); former husband Edward Boulos (Bradenton, Fl); brother Jesse Martin (Rachel); sister Mary Jo Martin (Stephen); brother Kevin Martin (Deb); as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, colleagues, interns and neighbors who were so special to Pat.

A celebration of life reception for family and friends is planned for Saturday, September 17th, 12 pm-3 pm at North 43 Bistro in South Portland, ME. We look forward to sharing fond memories of this amazing woman and remembering how lucky we are to have known her. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that people donate to Care Dimensions Hospice House in Lincoln MA https://www.caredimensions.org/care-services/hospice-houses/care-dimensions-hospice-house.cfm, or to Rosie's Place Shelter in Boston MA. https://www.rosiesplace.org/

Pat's Thornton's family will also be having a small get together at Thornton's Fenway Grille to celebrate her life on 9/11/22 @4pm for those local to the Fenway.
