Leonard Nelson of Weymouth passed away on August 4, 2022 at the age of 77. Leonard was raised and educated in Weymouth graduating from Weymouth High School. After graduating Leonard joined the marines and proudly served his country. He completed his active service in ’68 and Leonard went to work as an electrician. He worked many years as a union electrician before starting his own company, C&N Electric, where he worked until his retirement.
Leonard enjoyed outdoor activities and especially the time he spent on his boat. Leonard spent many years living in Florida near the Kennedy Space Center and enjoyed watching the space shuttles and other NASA related projects. Leonard was a longtime member of the Weymouth Eagles Club and loved the time he could spend there with the many friends he made. Above all else Leonard cherished the time he could spend with his family and was truly a special man.
Leonard was the devoted father to Tracey Nelson and her longtime partner Guy Legere of Weymouth, Kenneth Nelson and his wife Sue of Halifax and Sandra Nelson of Quincy. He was adored by his 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Leonard also leaves behind his siblings Charles Nelson of Quincy and Helen Nelson of Quincy.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a visitation for Leonard on Tuesday August 9, 2022 from 4-7 in the evening at the CC Shepherd Funeral Home Weymouth (Columbian Square). A graveside service will take place Wednesday August 10, 2022 at 10:30 in the morning at the Fairmount Cemetery (168 Cedar St. Weymouth).
