SOUTH HADLEY – Lillian M. Gemme, 93, of South Hadley, One of God’s Special Angels, was Called Safely Home on Wednesday, August 3, 2022. She passed into Eternal Life at her home surrounded by the care and comfort of her wonderful caregivers who truly loved her. She was born in Holyoke on August 24, 1928, a beloved daughter of the late Hormidas and Marion A. (Gleny) Gemme. She attended Sunshine Village in Chicopee and Three Rivers for many years. Lillian was blessed to live with her two wonderful caregivers, Cindy and Sandy, for over 20 years in Warren. She also lived for the past seven years with a wonderful group of caregivers in South Hadley and will be missed by her three dear roommates. She enjoyed visiting McDonald’s, had a love of music and enjoyed singing and listening to her favorite song, “I’m in the Mood for Love”. She leaves her many nephews, nieces, friends and caregivers. She will also be deeply missed by her longtime guardian and friend, Tammy Nothe-Hebert. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her two dear brothers, Rene and Lawrence Gemme; and her dear sister, Ruth A. Brackett. Her family and friends are invited to attend a Visiting Hour on Thursday, August 11, 2022 from 11 a.m. to 12 Noon followed by Prayers and a Celebration of Life Service at 12 Noon at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Fairview Chapels, (413-533-3307), 506 Britton Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. The parking lot is located in the rear of the funeral home. Her burial will follow the service at Precious Blood Cemetery, 65 Willimansett Street, South Hadley, MA 01075.
