Mr. Wallace E. Runge, a longtime resident of Andover and beloved husband of the late Thomasine E. (Brucato) Runge, passed away at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers on Monday evening, August 1, 2022. He was 83 years old.
Born in Reading, Massachusetts, on June 30, 1939, he was the son of the late Wallace E. and Rachel L. (VanHorn) Runge. Wally was a retired Andover Firefighter after more than 25 years of service. He was a member of the Free Christian Church in Andover where he worked as Superintendent after retirement and also drove a school bus for Andover public schools. He enjoyed spending time with family, traveling, watching his favorite TV shows and sports teams. He loved the sound of the ocean and listening to jazz music. He will be dearly missed.
Wallace is survived by his loving daughters; Stephanie A. and her partner, Nasser and Kirsta D., grandchildren; Andrew, Tyler and Thomasine “Siney”, brother Eric and his wife Wendy and several nieces and nephews. He was also the father of the late Dustine L. and Kordel L.
His Memorial Service will be celebrated in the Free Christian Church, 31 Elm Street, Andover, on Monday, August 8, 2022, at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend. Interment will be held in the Spring Grove Cemetery in Andover. To carry on his legacy of giving, donations can be made to a charity of your choice in Wallace’s memory.
