William Harrison, 90, of Dartmouth passed away Monday August 1, 2022 at home surrounded by his family after a period of declining health. He was the husband of Vickie (Silva) Harrison.
Born and raised in Fairhaven, the son of the late Benedict J. and Mary (Thexton) Harrison, he lived in Dartmouth for most of his life. He was a graduate of Fairhaven High School, Class of 1951.
Bill was formerly employed as a supervisor at Borg-Warner in New Bedford until his retirement. He also greatly enjoyed his part time career as a professional photographer.
He enjoyed snow skiing, fishing, camping, motor boating, and caring for his dogs. He was a person who could fix anything and took great pride in his home and yard.
He is survived by his wife Vickie; his daughter, Linda Harrison and her companion Matthew Leite; his granddaughter, Megan O’Brien; his son-in-law, Kevin O’Brien; two Godchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his siblings, Joseph Harrison, Margaret Freitas, Elizabeth Moone, Mary Ryan, Theresa Duval, Alice Langfield, Francis Harrison, and Benedict John Harrison.
Family and friends are welcome to attend his Funeral Mass to be celebrated on Friday August 5th at 10 AM at St. Julie Billiart Church, followed by burial in South Dartmouth Cemetery. Visiting hours are omitted. Arrangements are by the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
