John M. ‘Johnny’ Allard, 69 of Tewksbury, passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2022 in his home surrounded by his loving family after a lengthy and courageous battle of declining health. He was the husband of Mal (French) Allard with whom he shared 50 years of marriage.
He was born on July 4, 1953 in Somerville and was a son of the late Charles and the late Marie (Bergeron) Allard. He was raised in Somerville, where he attended Saint Benedict’s school and then graduated proudly from Somerville Trade High School, excelling in automotive.
Johnny dedicated his career to being an auto mechanic, working at Rigazzio Brothers in Somerville for many years. He later drove a truck for Pepsi Cola - with a huge smile in his face. John was the founder and “President” of the Merrimack Valley Car Club established in 2006 in Tewksbury and continues today. John was a jack of all trades, and had natural ability to fix anything, and family and friends would often call on him whenever virtually anything needed fixing.
John had a compassionate heart, and an uncanny sense of humor, he loved to make children laugh. He especially loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and extended family. He often expressed how proud he was of them all. He was extremely proud to be an American and that he was born on the Fourth of July. He loved God and his country.
In addition to his beloved wife, Mal Allard of Tewksbury, he is survived by his four children, Jay Allard and his wife, Gina of Tewksbury, Dawn Almas and her husband, David of Wilmington, Amy Harrington and her husband, Dan of Melrose, and Paul Allard and his fiancé, Patricia Ragu Winfield of Taunton, MA; twelve grandchildren, Jack and Ellie Allard, his lifelong sidekick, Jonathan Ruf and fiancé Brittney Walley, Braedon and Mary Almas, Drew, Dylan and Molly Harrington, Brianna and Kayla, Winfield, P.Nathan, and John Allard.
John also leaves behind his six siblings, Joan Dey, Joseph Allard, Charlotte Rubano, Charles Allard, Marie Fitzgerald, and Linda Whitney; many nieces and nephews; and many friends including those of the Merrimack Valley Car Club and the MVCC sponsors.
