WORCESTER: Philip Sanfilippo, 88, of Worcester, passed away on Friday, July 29, 2022, at The Blaire House of Worcester after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s. His loving wife, Mary Margaret (Sullivan) Sanfilippo, passed away in 2015.
Philip is survived by his children, Theresa Degraeve of St. Peterburg, FL, Philip J. Sanfilippo of New Hampshire and Lisa A. Watling of Danielson, CT as well as 5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
He was born in Caltanissetta, Italy, and came to the United States with his mother during his early teen years. He went on to serve in the Navy and was a radioman on a minesweeper during the Korean War. After serving he became a successful plant engineer, specializing in the development of clean room facilities.
Funeral services with burial in Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Winchendon MA, will be announced at a later date.
Dirsa-Morin Funeral Home, 298 Grafton Street, Worcester is assisting the family.
