Victor L. Veglia, age 86, passed away peacefully at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center on Thursday July 28th. Victor was the son of the late Geralamo and Mary (Olivolo) Veglia. Raised in Revere, Victor lived many years in Somerville and Medford. He enjoyed a long career as a construction worker with Local 22. He also conducted an independent retail business, offering helpful items to his many customers. Victor enjoyed time with his family and friends, and had a special love for his grandchildren.
The beloved husband of the late Rosemarie (Manza) Veglia, he leaves his devoted children: Karen Baldwin and her husband Vincent of Melrose, and Jeff Veglia and his wife Nancy of Lynnfield. He was a loving grandfather to Jonathan, Joshua, Ashley, Joseph, Jacqueline, and Alexis. He was a loving great-grandfather to Enzo Joseph Veglia. He is also survived by his brother Frank Veglia, his sister Eleanor Hannigan, and is predeceased by his many other brothers and sisters.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to visit at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Tuesday from 4 – 8 PM. The funeral procession will gather at the funeral home on Wednesday, August 3rd at 9 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated in St Mary’s Church, Melrose at 10 AM. Burial will be conducted privately.
