Obituary

BIEDERMAN, Glenn S. of Dedham passed away on July 27, 2022 at the age of 73. Glenn’s memory lives on through his beloved wife Nancy J. (Bosworth) Biederman, his daughters, Samantha B. Bradley and her husband Andrew of Norwood; the late Joanna B. Grey and her husband Jeffrey Dunn of Norwood; Jaclyn B. Tilks and her husband Gints of West Roxbury; and Veronica B. Biederman and her husband Mark Barry of Walpole. He is also survived by his 10 grandchildren. Brother of the late Kenneth Biederman of Texas, Geoffrey Biederman of Texas, and Wayne Biederman of Florida. Son of Simon and Sylvia (Lovitz) Biederman of Dorchester. Glenn was also a wonderful uncle, brother-in-law, nephew, cousin, and friend to so many others.

He was always immensely proud of his daughters and grandchildren and loved telling everyone about them. He was happiest in the role of patriarch, being at the head of the table with a Diet Coke (with two pieces of lime) by his side. He was always generous and even his adult children had a hard time leaving his side without a few dollars stuffed into their hand as they went. He was a consummate storyteller, recounting the many things he experienced (some of which, as Mark Twain said, actually happened).

He enjoyed traveling with his entire family, and favorite destinations included the Green Mountains, central Florida, and the Bahamas. Glenn was always dependable, offering to run errands, buy a meal, or drive his loved ones around at the drop of a hat. He loved to reflect on the past, reminiscing about his childhood growing up in Dorchester, listening to classic Motown hits, reading voraciously about history, and always hunting for treasure at flea markets, online, and at the beach.

Glenn served in the United States Army Reserve and spent the bulk of his professional career as a merchandise buyer for J. Baker shoes and Building 19. He was always happy to talk to people he had just met and formed many lasting friendships.

Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2022 from 1-4pm at the George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home 456 High St., Dedham. All other services and burial will be private.
