Obituary

Worcester - Mary K. (Roach) Allen 69, passed away on Thursday, July 21, 2022 in the Auburn Life Care Center. She is survived by her children Alicia (Allen) Woody (Tom Woody),Lisabeth Bochain, and Matthew Marshall. She is also a grandmother of six, Ryan Beaupre, Alex Borden, Noah Clark, Hayley Woody, Damien Reynolds, and Zachary Woody. She also leaves her sisters, Diana Bostock (Thomas), Virginia Roach (Michael Leary), and her brothers, William Roache (Christine), and John Roach, sister-in-law, Linda Roach, spouse of Mary's deceased brother Thomas Roach III and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her parents, Mary and Thomas Roach, she was predeceased by her son, James Allen, her sister, Sharon Marble, her brother-in-law, Raymond Marble, her brothers, Thomas Roach III, Robert Roach, and Michael Roach, and her former husband, Douglas Allen, sister-in-law Maureen Roach, her close friend and spouse of brother John Roach.

She was born and educated in Worcester. She received a trophy in high school for being the fastest typist at 87 words per minute. Upon graduation, she worked in medical records and the business office of the Family Health Center of Worcester. She also worked part-time as a secretary for the Department of Children and Families. Her favorite time of the year was Christmas, because it meant getting together with her family, nieces, nephews, and all of her siblings. She would spend most of her Friday nights at her sister Sharon’s house playing cards. She was an excellent card player. She also enjoyed playing cribbage with her father on Saturdays. She adored her grandchildren, and enjoyed spending time with them, traveling to Florida to be with some who live there. Mary loved people and always had a joke or story, told with a smile for them.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, August 2, 2022, at 12:30 pm, in St. John’s Cemetery, 260 Cambridge St., Worcester, St. Michael Section.
