Elvette W. "Sammy Dread" Molyneaux, born on December 22, 1960, in Davy Hill, Montserrat BWI and passed away unexpectedly on July 26, 2022. Elvette attended Salem School in Montserrat, and then migrated to Boston, MA in the summer of 1975.
Elvette was very much loved and very popular. He was a jack of all trades. He loved children and children loved him. He was a kind and gentle soul, and would literally give you the shirt off his back. Elvette was affectionately known as "Sammy Dread" throughout the Boston area. He truly enjoyed the Rastafarian culture, reggae music and would often DJ on the mike.
Elvette is survived by his parents, Mary A. Piper of Boston, and Elder T. Piper of St. Thomas, USVI. Devoted father of Analiciya Cheri Rich of Boston, and dear grandfather of Princetin Jarrel Daniel-Rich. Brother of Calvin L. Molyneaux of Attleboro, MA, James R. Molyneaux of Sharon, MA, Fredrick Daly of Antigua, WI and Starlina Cruz of Amherst, MA and a host of Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, cousins, as well as his extended family Ms. Wanda, Ulysses, and Victoria Fisher, Joy and Ava Riley of Boston, MA.
The family will receive friends and family on Friday August 12, 2022 from 9-10 AM followed by a funeral service from 10-11 AM in the Joseph Russo Funeral Home, 814 American Legion Highway, Roslindale, MA. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery, 427 Cummins Highway, Roslindale, MA.
