Andres D. Vizoso of Jamaica Plain, 48 years old, passed away peacefully after a valiant battle with cancer on Wednesday July 20, 2022. He died at home (just as he wished) surrounded by those who loved him the most.
Andy (as he was known to close family and friends) was born in Boston on March 26, 1974 to Andres and Olga Vizoso. Andy was the youngest of two children. He was an amazing son to his parents and the best brother to his sister Vicky. Andy made his family proud each and every day. Andy was a happy child who spent his days playing with toy guns and cars. He loved watching Dr. Who. He loved playing any new game that belonged to his cousin Luis, so much so that Luis would often have to pat him down to make sure he didn’t take anything home with him. Andy attended Xaverian High School and later went on to Boston College.
Andy had a wonderful sense of humor. His laugh was big and gregarious. He was kind and had a disarming smile that put others at ease. Andy was well-read and knowledgeable about many different subjects. He was a great person to go to for advice, he always knew something about any topic. Andy loved all things real estate. He worked in mortgages, sales, and rental property. He was proud of his Cuban/Peruvian heritage. He loved to smoke a good cigar, wear his fedora, Guayabera shirt and listen to old school Cuban music..
Andy is survived by his adoring parents, Andres and Olga, his sister Vicky Ferstler and her husband Jimmie, his husband Danny Bradley. Andy was an amazing “Guncle” to his nephews Diego, Javi, Braden, Aly Rains, and Lelie James. He also leaves behind his beloved pets, Mamacita the cat, and Levi his dog who was with him until the end, along with aunts, cousins, and many close friends who were like family to him.
Andy was able to make the most of his short life. He lived large and loved deeply. He found his true love in Danny Bradley and was able to share 15 wonderful years with him. Andy was honest and true to himself right up to the end. He was a bright spark in the world and will be deeply missed.
There will be a private Celebration of Life held in his honor in August. Contributions in memory of Andy can be made to the Northeast Animal Shelter in Salem, MA.
