Suzanne M. Levesque, 75, of Salem, died Saturday, July 23, 2022 at the North Shore Medical Center / Salem Hospital following a long illness. She was the daughter of the late Philip A. and Rita M. (Gaudreau) Levesque.
Born and partially raised in Salem and Ormond Beach, Florida, she was a graduate of Mainland High School and Daytona Beach Junior college. She returned to Salem when she was offered a position with the former Filene’s as a buyer. She left the retail world to work for the City of Salem briefly before returning to Salem State College to continue working for her degree in the Mental Health field. She received her Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling graduating Summa Cum Laude and Phi Kappa Phi. She worked for Health and Education Services in the Day Care program (Pioneer House) and prior to her stroke in their residential program. Sue loved her work. She truly loved and cared for the many members and staff members of the agency.
Sue loved the water and sailing, but her true passion was music and choral singing. She was a longtime member of the Paul Madore Chorale and served several terms in various offices.
Sue is survived by her brother, Paul P. Levesque of Salem, nieces and a nephew, Adele D. Audet of Hamden, CT, Philip H. Audet and his wife Diane and their two daughters, Ellie and Abby of Austin, TX, Andrea A. Belanger and her husband Michael of Beverly and their sons and daughter, Derek, Jonathan and Molly, and Malissa M. O’Meara and husband Michael of Weaverville, NC and their son and daughter, Taylor and Monet. She also leaves several cousins and close friends. She was predeceased by her sisters, Alice C. Audet and Phyllis E. LaPorte-Ardullah and best pal Ollie.
Sue’s Mass of Christian Burial will be held privately as well as her committal service.
