Obituary Information
Francis J. Iannoni, Sr., 82 years, died Saturday at Brockton Hospital after a brief illness. Born and raised in Brockton, he had been a lifelong resident. He was a graduate of St. Patrick’s Parochial School, Brockton High School class of 1943, Franklin Institute Class of 1946 and attended MIT, Boston University for a teaching degree, and taught the IBEW Apprentice Program at the Quincy Vocational School and Bristol Instrument. He had been employed at Armstrong Cork Company in Braintree and for many years was employed by the Electrical Contractors for the IBEW 223. He retired from Bechtel in 1985. He was a US Marine Corps veteran who served in the South Pacific during WWII.
He was an active member of St. Ann’s Church in West Bridgewater serving on many of its committees, enjoyed gardening and photography and was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, Sons of Italy, AARP and DAV.
He is survived by one son F. Joseph Iannoni Jr. and his wife Maureen of East Walpole, four grandchildren Jason, Krista, Michael and Allison of East Walpole, one sister Mary Catherine Iannoni of Brockton and many nieces and nephews. He was the husband of the late Christine G. (Cerce) Iannoni.
