Deborah Ann Smith, 63, of Derry, NH, passed away Sunday, July 24, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. Deb is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Kelly Smith of Derry, NH; her daughter, Amanda Abbott of Derry, NH; her son, Casey Smith and his wife Stephanie of Nashua, NH; her brother Butch Abbott of Derry, NH; her nephew whom she considered a son, Kiel Abbott and his wife Tasha of Bedford, MA; her grandchildren Jordan and Cayden as well as 16 additional beloved grandchildren.
Deb was born on December 15, 1958, in Lynn, MA, daughter of the late Eleanor (White) Vega. She grew up on Revere Beach and was a graduate of Revere High School Class Of 1976.
Deb was family first, she was loving wife, a devoted mother, a loyal sister, a caring aunt, and the proudest Nana. Her favorite pastimes were days at the beach, trips to the fairs, celebrating the holidays, and spending time with the people she loved the most, her family.
Deb will be remembered for her endless love surrounding all the children as you would always hear “it’s for the kids!” Deb would always end a beautiful heartfelt card or gift with “love you forever and a day!”
Deb was a staple in the NH Youth Football and Spirit Conference Dedicating 35 plus years, Deb achieved the honor of becoming the Secretary for the State division of NHYFSC. Deb was an AYF/AYC National Hall of fame inductee Class Of 2012. Even after her days as a football and cheer mom concluded, Deb maintained her passion and devotion to the organization with the focus of creating lifelong memories for the kids.
Family and friends are invited to the Peabody Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry on Saturday July 30, 2022 from 1:00pm – 3:00pm. A Celebration of Deborah’s Life will follow at Fody's Tavern, 187 1/2 Rockingham Rd, Derry, NH 03038. All are welcome to attend.
