Doris E. Nardone, of Woburn, went home to be with the Lord on July 22nd. She was 89 years young and the cherished daughter of the late Leo and Lillian Myott.
Doris grew up in Woburn where she met and married the love of her life, Michael Nardone. Together, they began raising their large family in Lynn. They then moved to her husband’s family farm in the south end of Woburn. While raising her eight children, Doris worked for a short period part-time at Sylvania. As the children grew older, Doris attended night school completing executive secretarial courses, obtained her driver’s license and reentered the workforce as a Senior Secretary for the Mitre Corporation in Bedford, where she was a highly valued employee.
Doris was an active member of the Grace Chapel family in Lexington. She was a fervent prayer warrior and taught Sunday school in their children’s program there for many years.
After retiring from work, Doris found great joy in spending time with her children and very large extended family. She enjoyed gardening, spending summers at Good Harbor Beach in Gloucester, Bingo and crocheting. Doris lovingly crafted intricate and beautiful afghans for all her children, which they will always cherish. All loved Doris dearly and she will be greatly missed.
Doris was the beloved mother of Susan DeTeso and her husband Salvatore, Michael Nardone and his wife Terri, Ellen James, Virginia Nardone, John Nardone and his wife Robin, Josephine Brouillette and her husband Paul, Christine Braese, James Nardone and the late Sarah Nardone. She was the former wife of the late Michael Nardone and loving grandmother of 21 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Dear Sister of Barbara Calder, the late Jeanne Murphy, Leo Myott, Marjorie Russo, Richard Myott, Lorraine Arroyo, and William Myott. Close sister-in-law of Camella Godjikian and her husband Richard. Survived by many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend a funeral service conducted in the McLaughlin – Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., Woburn, Saturday, July 30th, at 12 p.m. and may visit with the family prior to the service from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Services will conclude with burial at Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn.
Out of concern for everyone’s safety, the family has requested that facemasks be worn while attending all services.
