Barbara Vazquez, 48, died unexpectedly on Sunday, July 17 at Lowell General Hospital.
A daughter of Gabriel Ruiz and Ana Vazquez, she was born on September 9, 1973 in Lowell. She was raised and educated in the Lowell area. She worked as a CNA for the past 13 years throughout Lowell, most notably out of Fairhaven and Town & Country Nursing Homes. Her recent illness forced her early retirement.
Barbara loved cooking, singing and getting together with family and friends. She was always smiling and had a wonderful sense of humor and will be missed by all who knew her.
Besides her parents, Gabriel and Ana, she is also survived by her longtime companion, Raymond Diaz, of Lowell, with whom she spent the last 11 years, her children, Suhaily Pacheco of Woburn, Jodeci Souza of Salem, MA and her grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters in law and best friends Sonia Vazquez and her partner Austin Salvia, both of Lowell, Wanda Rivera of Lowell. Additionally, she leaves behind her brother Jaime Vazquez of Lowell, many many nieces, nephews including Xiomara Medina of West Virginia, Leanna Vazquez and Jaime Vazquez Jr. both of Lowell; and many grand nieces and grand nephews.
