Eduardo M. Lima

TEWKSBURY: Eduardo M. Lima, age 73, a resident of Tewksbury for 36 years, passed away peacefully at home in the loving care of his wife and family on Friday, July 22, 2022.

He was the beloved husband of Lidia P. (Pereira) Lima with whom he celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 18, 2022.

Born in Sao Miguel, Azores, Portugal on January 2, 1949, he was the son of the late Jose M. Lima and the late Irondina (Medeiros) Lima.

Eduardo was raised in Sao Miguel.

In 1972, he moved from Sao Miguel to Cambridge. He resided in the Cambridge and Somerville area until moving to Tewksbury, where he and his wife raised their three daughters.

Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a lead worker/truck driver by Boston University, where he worked for 30 years.

Eduardo will fondly be remembered for his tremendous work ethic, outgoing personality, and incredible sense of humor.

In his spare time, he enjoyed caring for the landscape of his lawn and yard in Tewksbury. He took great pride in providing a well-kept home for his family and loved sharing his landscaping talents with family and friends.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Fatima P. Lima, of Tewksbury, Debbe P. Silva and her husband Robert, of Tewksbury, and Jennifer P. Ferreira and her husband John, of Dracut: four grandchildren, Nathan and Jeremy Silva, and Samantha and Dylan Ferreira. He was the brother of Carminda Costa, Fernando Lima, and Ana Moniz, all of Sao Miguel, and the late José Lima and Agostino Lima. Eduardo leaves many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Calling hours are Tuesday, July 26th, from 5-8 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee Street, Tewksbury. His funeral procession will begin on Wednesday, July 27th, at 9 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by his Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Dorothy’s Church, corner of Main & Harnden Streets, Wilmington. Interment at Calvary Cemetery, Winchester. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 309 Waverley Oaks Road, Waltham, MA 02452.
