Ann M. (Zigmont) Godek, 97, passed away peacefully at Christopher House of Worcester on July 20, 2022. Her husband, Anthony R. Godek, died in 1980.
Ann was born in Worcester, a daughter of Vincent and Zuzana (Janauskas) Zigmont. She lived in Worcester most of her life, until moving to Holden ten years ago to live with her son and caregiver, Richard.
She leaves her four devoted children – Barbara A. Braney and her husband Richard of Spencer, Richard P. Godek and his partner Doris Giovanucci of Holden, John A. Godek and his wife Sandra of Shrewsbury, and Laurie J. Vickers of Worcester. She also leaves her brother Vincent Zigmont and his wife Zina of Millbury, and many nieces and nephews.
She cherished her eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, who all loved her very much.
Besides her husband, Ann is reunited with her three sisters – Josephine Zalieckas, Helen Zigmont, and Sue Moynagh. She was also predeceased by her grandson, Richard P. Godek Jr. and her son-in-law, Edward Vickers.
Ann was a member of the former St. Casimir Church, and was proud of her Lithuanian heritage. She was a life-long Catholic, and had a special devotion to the Blessed Mother. Her favorite times were those spent with her family. She will be greatly missed by everyone fortunate enough to have known her.
The family would like to thank her Jewish Home Healthcare nurse Shannon, her JHC Hospice workers Marjorie and Pam, and the caring staff of Christopher House who made Ann’s last days comfortable.

At Ann’s request, there will be no calling hours. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, July 26 at 10:00 am at St. John’s Church, 40 Temple St. in Worcester. She will be laid to rest at Notre Dame Cemetery. Dirsa-Morin Funeral Home, 298 Grafton St. is assisting the family with arrangements.
