Obituary

Tewksbury - Katherine Phyllis (Russo) Stepansky, 76, passed peacefully at home on July 20, 2022 surrounded by her family. Katherine was the wife of the late Steven Lewis Stepansky who passed in 2017 they married on Columbus Day in 1994, and she was the former wife and good friend of the late Daniel Russo.
     She was born in Brighton on August 30, 1945, she grew up in and was educated in Watertown, and she graduated from Watertown High School.  She relocated to Waltham, where she raised her family.  She worked as a waitress at the Hillcrest for ten years, and then as a dietary aide at the Waltham Hospital for over 20 years.  She was a very hard worker, she would always show up for work an hour early just to make sure everything was ready for the day.  After her retirement she returned to the workforce as an aid for those with Alzheimer's.
     While most of her life was spent in Waltham, she relocated to Medford, and then Tewksbury to be able to spend more time with family. She loved her family, cherished her time she had with them, especially time spent chatting over a nice cup of coffee.  She enjoyed traveling and gaming, she loved trips to Foxwoods, Atlantic City, and Las Vegas. She wasn't one to pass by a video game either, she would often be found at any hour playing her children's and then grandchildren's video games.  She was an avid movie buff, and roller coaster enthusiast, and she loved to spend time listening to country music at the Indian Ranch in Webster.
     Katherine is survived by her four children, Karen Massa with whom she resided with in Tewksbury, Kathleen Beckford and her husband Wayne of Fitchburg, Danny Russo of Maynard, and Lori Bourque and her husband Terry of East Kingston; her grandchildren, Anthony Massa, Natasha and Brandon Beckford, Taylor, Caylee & Daniel Russo Jr., Ashley Russo-Moore and Alivia Bourque, and her 6 great grandchildren. 
     She was the grandmother of the late Wayne Beckford, the great grandmother of the late Jayla Beckford, and she was also predeceased by many friends.     YOU ARE  WELCOME TO ATTEND HER CALLING HOURS AT THE TEWKSBURY FUNERAL HOME, 1 DEWEY STREET, TEWKSBURY, MA 01876, ON MONDAY JULY, 25, 2022 FROM 10 A.M. UNTIL 12 NOON.  HER FUNERAL SERVICE WILL TAKE PLACE IN THE FUNERAL HOME AT THE CONCLUSION OF HER CALLING HOURS AT 12 PM. BURIAL WILL FOLLOW IN THE TEWKSBURY CEMETERY 172 EAST STREET, TEWKSBURY MA.
