In Port Charlotte, FL, Jeannette Irene Collins, age 76, passed away peacefully following a lengthy illness on July 16, 2022. Jeannette was born in Boston, MA, the daughter of the late Alfred Lavelle & Irene (Filiault) Lavelle.
Jeannette had resided in FL since 2015, and was formerly of Taunton, MA. She was educated in Taunton schools. Jeannette retired from Marian Manor Nursing Home, working as the receptionist.
Jeannette was a communicant of the Annunciation of the Lord Church. She enjoyed dining out, crafts, going to the beach, spending time with her friends, and above all cherished her time with family.
Jeannette is survived by her loving children; Patricia Collins of Provincetown, Brenda Nunes and her husband Michael of FL, Kimberly Myles and her husband David of Phoenix, AZ, and Scott Garcia and his wife Natalie of Taunton, her beloved grandchildren; Amanda Teixeira, Jared and Justin Nunes, Olivia, Jackson and Jonah Garcia, and great grandson Remy Teixeira, her siblings; Joyce Welch of Shrewsbury, Cheryl Fanton of FL, and the late Thomas Lavelle. Jeannette was preceded in death by her former late husband Robert Collins and survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins.
Funeral from the O’Keefe Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St., Taunton, MA 02780 on Tuesday, July 26th at 9am. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at the Annunciation of the Lord Church in Taunton at 10am. Relatives and friends are also invited to visiting hours on Monday from 5-7pm. Burial will be at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Taunton.
