Edna M. (Phelan) Desmeule 79, a former longtime resident of Franklin, passed away peacefully, at Milford Center, with family at her side Monday July 18, 2022 following an illness.
Born July 30, 1942 in Franklin and the daughter of the late Ricahrd R. Phelan and Doris E. (Sprague) Phelan.
She enjoyed spending time with family, arts and crafts, music, walking with her daughter for lunch and ice cream as well as shopping.
She is survived by 2 daughters and 2 sons Corrine (Ruggieri) Cook and her husband Brian Cook of Bellingham and daughter Tracy Marino of Woonsocket. She also leaves behind 2 sons, Paul Ruggieri of Uxbridge and Edward Ruggieri of Pennsylvania; eleven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, as well as 3 siblings; Rachel Lenzi and Joan Phelan both from Franklin and brother John Phelan of New York along with 16 nieces and nephews. Edna was predeceased by a son Richard R. Ruggieri of Florida.
Edna’s family and friends would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses, doctors and all staff at Genesis in Milford for the excellent care and support they provided Edna and her family. Edna had resided at Genesis for the past 20 years and considered it her loving home and for that the family is eternally thankful.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her calling hours Monday July 25th, in the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. from 9-11AM.
Her funeral service will take place at 11AM in the funeral home.
Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.
