Greg Paul Benson, 58, of Ashburn passed away Tuesday, July 19, 2022, at Tift Regional Medical Center. His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 22, 2022, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Rodney Owens officiating. Mr. Benson will be laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, July 22, 2022, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of the service.
Hal Padgett, Prue Benson, Ben Benson, Chris Stillwell, Harold Willis and Stevie Arrington will serve as pallbearers.
Born June 27, 1964, in Tifton, Mr. Benson was the son of the late Harold Carlton Benson and Ethel Sue Clements Benson. He was retired and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Mr. Benson is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Zackery and Katy Benson of Ashburn; two daughters and one son-in-law, Abigail and Jesse Freeman of Waynesville, Missouri and Rachel Benson of Monroe; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Ricky Carlton and Tammy Benson, James “Jimmy” and Susan Benson and Joe H. Benson, all of Tifton; two grandchildren, Paisley Grace Benson and Blakely Paige Freeman; and numerous nieces and nephews.
