Carol A. Galvin, a resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Monday, July 18, 2022 at Seasons Hospice in Milton following a long and hard fought battle with breast cancer. She was 66 years of age.
Carol was born in Boston on September 14, 1955, a daughter of the late Francis J. Galvin and Anne B. (Beauregard) Galvin. She grew up in Charlestown where she had many fond childhood memories of Holden Row and Lawnwood Place. She attended St. Mary’s Parochial School and graduated from Charlestown High School. Carol was an animal lover and enjoyed caring for her beloved pets Lucy, Rex, Izzy, and Alvin. She is best remembered as a loving and caring person who cherished her family, friends, her Charlestown roots, and the Boston Red Sox.
Carol is the devoted mother of Crystal Galvin and her late partner Kevin O’Malley. She is the loving Grandma of Dylan O’Malley. She is the dear sister of Francis G. Galvin and his wife Janis. She is the beloved aunt of Jason Galvin and his wife Ann, Derek Galvin, Craig Galvin, and Great-Aunt of Sean Galvin. She is the loving friend of Helen Morris, Linda Montgomery, Sharon Anufrom, and George. She is also survived by many loving cousins and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Carol’s Funeral on Monday, July 25, 2022 at 10 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by her Funeral Mass at 11 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church, 55 Warren St. Charlestown. Her burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden. Her visiting hours will be held on Sunday, July 24, 2022 from 2 P.M. to 5 P.M. in the funeral home.
