On Friday July 15, 2022, Henry Calixte, father of 2, passed away from a sudden stroke at the
age of 59. Born on May 13th 1963, Henry was born in Port Au Prince, Haiti to Merulus Mileus
and Eléne Caluse. In his early life, he traveled to different countries selling various goods. He
met Raymonde Jean-Michel during this time and they continued to travel together before getting
married. Once married, they looked to America as a place for better opportunities to live and
work. They moved to Boston Massachusetts after briefly living in Florida and New York. They
lived in a quiet apartment in the Roslindale neighborhood. During this time, Henry started to
work at the Omni Parker House Hotel in downtown Boston. He trained under various chefs and
became a very skilled line cook. In July of 1990, Raymonde and Henry welcomed their first
child, David. Shortly after in June 1992, their second child, Dominique was born, completing the
family. Henry throughout this time still worked at the Omni Parker House where he collected
various accolades such as employee of the year. When he wasn't at work, Henry enjoyed many
things. He loved to watch all levels of soccer from watching the kids participate in youth leagues
to watching many of the international professional leagues. He loved to watch Thierry Henry
work his magic for the Arsenal club of the English Premier League. When he wasn't watching
soccer, he stayed up to date with all of the local Boston teams (through the illustrious title runs
of the 2000s on). Although a very quiet and private man, he would always try to keep situations
mellow with random jokes and casual banter. He never wanted people to feel left out. He will be
missed by all who had the pleasure to know him. He is survived by daughter, Dominique
Calixte, son, David Calixte, daughter-in-law, Ivy Watts-Calixte, granddaughter, Charlotte Sang
Calixte, mother of his children, Raymonde Jean-Michel.
