Flaherty, William, 56, of Sharon, MA, passed away at home, on July 15th, 2022, after a long battle with esophageal cancer.
Mr. Flaherty predeceased his parents James and Nadine Flaherty and is survived by his sister Susan and her husband Gerald Sweeney, daughter Caitlyn and son Conor, his brother James and Annmarie Flaherty and their daughter Nicole and two sons Jimmy and Michael, and his brothers David, John, and Steven. William is also survived by his aunts, uncles, and cousins, and his close and far-reaching friends.
William was in the hospitality and hotel business for over 20 years, predominately in Las Vegas, Nevada. William loved his long-time best friend and dog Bella, fishing, the outdoors, hunting, was coined a “foodie” by the many that knew and loved him, and had a deep passion for sports, especially his hometown Patriots and Bruins. William never ran out of stories, always leaping at the chance to throw his sister and brothers under the bus. His eyes would always sparkle when he turned on his sassy charm. Even in his darkest hour, William wanted to be with his parents Jim and Nadine. Spending time down the Cape, especially views of the ocean, brought back many fond memories and some happiness when he needed it the most. The last year and a half was an unrelenting and unfair battle, but one he took head-on courageously and never once complained. We will all carry William in our hearts until we meet again. Rest easy William and watch over the Patriots and Bruins. God knows how much help they’re going to need.
Donations can be made to Good Shepherd Community Care in William’s honor.
