Robert L. Beaulieu, 84, of New Bedford passed away peacefully at home after a brief illness on Saturday, July 16, 2022. He was the loving husband of Therese (Cardoza) Beaulieu for 55 years.
Born and raised in New Bedford, he was the son of the late Amedee Beaulieu and Delima (Richard) Sabourin.
Robert was a devout Catholic and member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society at Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in New Bedford. He volunteered for the Church regularly and received the Marian Medal for his contributions. Robert enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren participate in dance recitals and sports events. He worked at Lissak Shoe Company for 25 years, Shuster Corp. for 20 years, and Hawthorne Medical for 10 years. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #914 for many years.
Robert proudly served in the United States Army and the Massachusetts National Guard.
Survivors include his wife Therese; his daughters, Lisa Roderiques of Acushnet, Susan Berche and her husband William of Fairhaven, and Janet Stanton and her husband David of New Bedford; two brothers; two sisters; his grandchildren, Jillian Isherwood and her husband Adam, Julie Amaral and her fiancé Justin Avila, Rose Amaral, Nathan and Morgan Roderiques, and Joselyn Berche; and a great-granddaughter Lucy Avila.
Robert's Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, July 30, 2022 at 11 AM in the Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 121 Mt. Pleasant Street, New Bedford. Guests are invited to meet directly at the Church. His wake will be Friday, July 29, 2022 from 4 to 8 pm at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park Street, New Bedford.
