In 1973 he graduated from Wheeler High School in North Stonington.
Michael was employed at General Dynamics Electric Boat in Groton, Ct. for 39 years as a
1st Class Service Engineer, Working Leader, Department 272 Shipyard Test Organization.
His black GMC truck towing a trailer with mowers or a tractor was a familiar sight to see in the local area. With his giving heart he had a passion for helping others, physically and/or financially. Humble, Honest, Hardworking, and Witty are a few words to describe Michael's character.
His hobbies included fishing, camping, motorcycle riding, and working on endless projects in his garage (his and everyone else's.) He enjoyed riding his Walker mowers and took pride in his many lawns that he kept. Old Country and Western music was his favorite and he was a fan of
The Boston Red Sox and The Dallas Cowboys.
His geodesic dome is also a unique description of his creative character, Michael and his father built it along with the help of his many loyal friends.
He was a devoted husband, generous loving father, and a mentor not only to his family but to many lives that he touched.
The family would like to thank The Visiting Nurses of Southeastern Connecticut and The Beacon Hospice Team for their outstanding care of our loved one during this unexpected, difficult journey.
Michael's favorite charity was St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
His family will greet relatives and friends on Thursday evening, July 28, from 6 to 8pm at the Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Mystic. All are invited to attend a graveside service and burial on Friday, July 29, at 11:00 in the family plot in Wheeler Cemetery, North Stonington.
