Our family is saddened to announce the passing of Douglas Andrew Kaser on July 8, 2022 after a short illness. Doug was born on December 4, 1961 in Ventura, California to Doug and Lin Kaser. Growing up in Ojai, California, Doug graduated from Nordhoff High School in 1980. After graduation, Doug spent 4 years in the US Navy and an additional 4 as a Navy Reserve, honorably serving the United States. Because of his love for the Northern California mountains, Doug lived in various towns before settling in Westwood, California with the love of his life, Grace Marion. Doug worked various jobs including construction and as a foreman on the oil platforms. He was always around to help out a friend or stranger. He volunteered as a member of the Clampers Organization and often cut firewood for neighbors. Doug celebrated his native heritage in belief and practice.
He was preceded in death by his father, Douglas E. Kaser. He is survived by his mother Lin (Acosta) Kaser. He is also survived by his siblings, Cindy Cowlishaw (Thom d. 2019), Elaine Lightner (Frank), and Garrett Kaser (Beth). In addition, he is survived by nephews and nieces, Brett Cowlishaw (Kate), Jessica Weldele (Brian ), Silas Ellison, Bailey Lightner, Trevor Lightner, Megan Kaser and James Kaser. Doug will also be missed by numerous, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Family and friends are invited to Funeral Services with Military Honors to be held on Saturday, August 6, 2022 at 11 AM in the the JOSEPH P. REARDON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICE, Ventura. A reception will immediately follow at the Moose Lodge in OakView. The Moose Lodge is located at 382 N Ventura Ave in Oak View.
