Isabelle “Nana” (Grant) Staley, 80, of New Bedford passed away peacefully at home on Saturday July 9, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Derrel J. Staley.
Born in Savannah, Georgia, the daughter of the late Willie and Fannie (Strickland) Grant, she lived in New Bedford for most of her life.
Nana loved sitting on the porch people-watching, doing crossword puzzles, and watching Westerns.
She is survived by her children, Janet, Francisco, Jessica, and her “bonus son” Jason; her grandchildren, David, Mark, Tamara, Blessin, Corey, Darnel, Danielle, and Danna; her brothers, Fellis and Isaac Grant; her sister-in-law, Shirley Grant; her niece, Jacqueline; her nephew, Jack; her Godson, Marc; six great-grandchildren; eight great-nieces and great-nephews; and 16 great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
She was predeceased by her daughters, Eartha and Caroline; her granddaughter, Tanesha; and her nieces and nephews, Carl, Tyrone, Jessie, Harold, and Willie.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday July 13, 2022 at 8:30 AM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, with visitation prior to the service from 7:30-8:30 AM.
