Peter Sirmopoulos , 70, of Lowell, passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2022, at Lowell General Hospital after a brief illness with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband to Pamela (Coffey) Sirmopoulos, with whom he celebrated their Forty Second Wedding Anniversary this year.
Peter was born July 24, 1951, in Lakonia, Greece, a son of the late John and the late Maria (Moscanas) Sirmopoulos and as a young boy moved to the United States in 1956 with his family. He was raised and educated in Lowell where his family settled and where he then raised his own family.
He had worked as a truck driver for over twenty years before his retirement. He enjoyed cars and music, but the thing that brought him the most happiness and filled his heart with joy was spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his loving wife, Pamela, he is survived by his children, Alicia Sirmopoulos, Heather Sirmopoulos, and Peter Sirmopoulos all of Lowell; his beloved grandchildren Damian Sech, Dominick Torres, Norey Sech, Gabriella-Marie Sech, and Serena Sech, who all blessed his life with joy and happiness; his three sisters, Alexandra Luna of Florida, Pauline MacLauchlan of Maine, and Betty Dean of Lowell; his brothers, Evan Sirmopoulos, Arthur Sirmopoulos, and Christos Sirmopoulos all of Lowell; as well as his many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother, Lenny Sirmopoulos.
You are invited to his visitation on Thursday, July 14, 2022, from 5 until 7 p.m. at the McDONOUGH FUNERAL HOME, 14 Highland Street, Lowell 978-458-6816. His Funeral Service will be held at 7 p.m. at the Funeral Home following the visitation.
