LEICESTER: Monica C. Hawes, 55, of Onley Street in the Cherry Valley section of Leicester and formerly of Spencer and Rochdale died unexpectedly on Monday, July 4th.
She leaves a son David Sherman and his wife Katelyn of Nebraska, two daughters; Kendra Sherman and her fiance Jorden Straub of Auburn and Courtney McKeon of Fall River, her father William C. Hawes of Rochdale, a brother Richard C. Hawes of Rochdale, five grandchildren; Mason, Cody, Finley, Granger & Hope and several cousins, aunts and uncles, and her best friend Lisa Lachance of Leicester.
Monica was born in Santa Monica, CA, daughter of the late Carole A. (Printer) Hawes. She was a member of the Leicester Spencer Eagles Club and the ladies auxiliary of the Chester P. Tuttle Post 279 in Auburn. She enjoyed spending time at Indian Ranch in Webster attending concerts, crafts, cooking and baking. She loved going to the beach and spending time with her "Nuggets". She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, July 15 from 5:00-7:00 PM in MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main Street, Leicester. Funeral services and burial in Phillip Cemetery, Foster, R.I. will be private at the convenience of the family.
