Kenneth Leo Boultenhouse, 84, of Medway died July 7 in Milford Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Ann M (Morrissey) Boultenhouse who died in 2009.
Born in Boston, February 26,1938, the eldest son of the late George C. and Helen (Shevory) Boultenhouse. Mr. Boultenhouse lived in Readville until the age of 9. He moved to Medway in 1947 and was raised by his foster parents the late Oscar and Grace (Butler) Hamm. He remained a Medway resident for much of the past 75 years.
He was a 1956 graduate of Medway High School and later attended college at Dean College in Franklin.
He proudly served in the United States Air Force during the late 1950’s and early 1960’s attaining the rank of Airman First Class.
Ken had been a typesetter for most of his career and worked for the Boston Typographical Union. He later became a Tour Bus Driver and enjoyed many years traveling with tour groups.
He had been a member of the American Legion and the Franklin Lodge of Elks.
Ken found his greatest joy in spending time with family, enjoying his grandchildren, and taking family vacations. He also loved telling stories, jokes, and reciting poems. He enjoyed working on his computer, digital photos, and writing and collecting stories and poems.
He is survived by his children, William K. Boultenhouse and his wife Kimberly of Bellingham, Paul R. Boultenhouse of Arizona, Janet I. Normandin and her husband Eric of Franklin and Diane C. (Dede) Boultenhouse-Santagate of Uxbridge.
He is also survived by his siblings, Robert Boultenhouse of Wareham, John Boultenhouse of Norton, Richard Boultenhouse of Pawtucket, RI and Carol Boultenhouse of Fort Pierce, FL.
He was the brother of the late Joseph Boultenhouse, Helen Doucette, and Raymond Boultenhouse. He was the foster brother of the late William Hamm, Emily Coakley, Joseph (Sonny) Hamm, and Francis Hamm.
He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Brian, Daniel and Shea Boultenhouse, Abby, Haley and Molly Normandin and Rachel and Jacob Santagate, his great-grandson William Boultenhouse and many nieces and nephews.
His funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 13 in St. Brendan’s Church, Bellingham at 11:00. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Medway.
