Margaret Jean (Nadow) Ferrante, 72, succumbed to a brief battle with cancer on Friday, July 8, 2022, surrounded by those who loved her. A lifelong resident of Worcester, she was the daughter of the late Francis Nadow, the late Loretta (Paladino) (Nadow) Bergeron and the late Roger Bergeron.
Margaret attended Worcester Girl’s Trade School and soon after, married her husband, Leonardo Ferrante. Over 55 years of marriage, they raised a beautiful family together. She will be lovingly missed by her three sons, Leo Ferrante and his wife, Suzanne of Worcester; Paul Ferrante and his wife, Alice, also of Worcester; Michael Ferrante and his wife, Tina, of CT, and Lori Poirier of SC, who Margaret loved as a daughter; Nine grandchildren, Nicholas Ferrante and his wife, Jenny , of Webster, Marissa (Ferrante) Perkins and her husband, Tyler, of Sterling, Marco Ferrante of Worcester; Tiffany Ferrante of Boston, Brittany Ferrante and her wife Nina, of Boston, Anthony Ferrante of Rutland; Paul Ferrante jr and his fiance, Evelyn, of Worcester, Matthew Ferrante of Worcester, and Kelsey Ferrante of Auburn. She was blessed with 5 great-grandchildren to love during her lifetime. Margaret will be remembered with love by her two sisters, Charlene (Nadow), wife of Richard O’Connor of Auburn, and Denise (Bergeron) Cataldo of Northbridge; her sister-in-law, Filomena (Ferrante) Ducimo who was such an important part of her life. She had an especially close relationship to her cousin Peggy and Godchild Shauna as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her brother, Richard Nadow and mother-in-law Carmela (Ferrante) Cascione.
Margaret was a hairdresser for several years, mostly from her home, and then worked at Bradlees until their closure. Her life though was devoted to her sons and family. She was THE babysitter and caregiver to so many family members, and did so with joy. Margaret’s door was always open and welcoming to all who came in. The house was filled with laughter and food; Margaret was an excellent cook! She enjoyed listening to music, playing cribbage with her brother, Richard, and in her younger years, going to the beach.
Margaret will be entombed in Worcester, at the Notre Dame Cemetery’s Mausoleum after cremation inurnment. In respect of her wishes, there will be no calling hours and a service at a later date will be private. In lieu of flowers, spend time with family and express your love. Life is short.
