Alfred J. Sarno of Medford, MA passed away on Tuesday July 5, 2022 at 79 years old. Born in Boston’s West End, to the late Carmine (Mimmy) Sarno and Yolanda Loguidice.
He lived in Medford, MA for most of his life where he met his loving wife Judy. Together they had four children, Anthony J. Sarno and his wife Julie of Mansfield, Christine M. SarnoRogers of Medford, Stephen M. Sarno and his wife Lynda of Billerica, and Michael C. Sarno and his wife Jennifer of Burlington. He was the loving grandfather of 9 grandchildren; Lindsay and Jonathan Rogers, Anthony, Alessandra, Christopher, Nathan, Sydney, Sophia, and Gavin Sarno.
Alfred was the owner of Garden Fruit Co. for over 40 years at the old Boston Garden. Throughout his life he enjoyed spending his time with his children, his grandchildren, and his lifelong friends. When he wasn’t with his family he was likely spending time watching the horse races - a hobby of his since he was a young boy since he spent most of his childhood around horses. This hobby quickly became a passion of his, learning everything he could about racing and he took great pleasure in educating his loved ones in everything he knew.
His Funeral Service will be celebrated in the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford, on Wednesday at 6 PM. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend.
