Obituary



WORCESTER___Helen V. (Kucko) Wondolowski, 98, formerly of Worcester died on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at The Holiday Retirement and Skilled Care Center, Manville, RI.

Helen leaves two sons, Walter J. Wondolowski and his wife, Ginny, of Reston, VA, and Robert J. Wondolowski and his wife, Liz, of Uxbridge; a daughter, Susan M. Wondolowski and her husband, Robert von Heyn of Greenville, RI, three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Helen was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Walter P. Wondolowski, her sisters, Gladys (Dawn) Braun and Jane Kuras and her grandson, Matthew. She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Jan Kucko and Antonina Siwinska and lived there all her life.

Helen was a homemaker and taking care of her family and raising her children were most important to her. Prior to this, she graduated from David Hale Fanning Trade School having studied catering and attended the Worcester School of Business Science. She worked for Bill’s Bakery and then for Shakours Beauty Supply before her marriage and starting a family.

Helen was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church as well as the Polish American Veterans Ladies Auxiliary. She also enjoyed volunteering in the St. Mary’s School Library. Aside from spending time with her family, she enjoyed cooking and baking, knitting and sewing, flower arranging and reading. She was fun-loving and loved to joke around. She spent her final years at The Holiday Retirement Home in Manville, RI, where she enamored staff and became family.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 from HENRY – DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward Street, with a Mass at 10:30 A.M. in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward Street. The funeral Mass can be seen via livestream at www.olcworcester.com click on the “Live from our church” tab. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours in the funeral home are Tuesday, July 12, 2022 from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Holiday Retirement Home Activities Fund, 30 Sayles Hill Rd, Manville, RI, 02838 or to Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish, 34 Ward St, Worcester, Ma, 01610.
