Luppi, Frank age 94, of Dedham, passed away peacefully, July 6, 2022, surrounded by his family. Frank leaves his loving wife of seventy-one years, Irene (Anastasi). Frank was beloved by his five children and their spouses, Anne Cremonini (Paul) of Wellesley, Mark Luppi (Patricia) of Needham, Mary Manning (Tom) of Westwood, Jane Gunning (Tom) of Randolph, and Ellen Rose (George) of Ashland. He leaves behind his loving grandchildren, Leah Cinelli (Anthony), Riley Manning, Ryan Manning, Michael Manning, Caitlin Manning, Michael Gunning (Gabrielle), Laura Gunning, Olivia Rose and Zachary Rose; and great grandchildren, Declan, Peyton, Maribel, and Gianna.
Frank leaves his sister, Mary Gallo of Malden, as well as, many nieces and nephews. Frank’s older brother, John Luppi, his sister in law, Doris Luppi and his brother in law, Joseph Gallo, of Medford, predeceased him
Frank was a World War II Veteran serving in the US Navy. Frank was a proud, career police officer for thirty-five years, serving on the Medford Police force, MDC, and retiring as a Massachusetts State Trooper.
Frank was a kind and devoted family man, friend, and neighbor, who always went the extra mile to offer a helping hand. In addition to his selfless devotion to his family over his lifetime, he volunteered his time and talents to many local Church and Civic organizations. He was a twenty year member and treasurer of the St. Vincent de Paul Society, treasurer of the Social Committee St. Mary’s Church in Dedham, long standing member and financial secretary for the Dedham Retired Men’s Club. He was also a member of the American Legion and the Knights of Columbus. For fourteen years, Frank served as treasurer of the MDC Police Relief Association. He was a member of the Massachusetts Police Association and the Retired Metropolitan Police Association.
Funeral from the George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High Street, Dedham, on Tuesday, July 12, at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Mary Church, Dedham at 10am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hours in the funeral home on Monday, July 11, from 4-7pm. Interment, Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford, MA.
