Obituary

Doris Blalock Hall, 87, of Tifton passed away Thursday, July 7, 2022, at her residence. Her funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, July 9, 2022, in the Memorial Chapel of Tifton’s First Baptist Church with the Rev. John Hughes officiating. Mrs. Hall will be laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 9, 2022, in the Memorial Chapel of Tifton’s First Baptist Church from 2:00 p.m. until the hour of the service.

Members of the Exchange Club of Tifton will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Joy Sunday School Class of Tifton’s First Baptist Church.

Born July 3, 1935, in Hahira, Mrs. Hall was the daughter of the late William Florence “Dub” Blalock, Jr. and Lucy Ward Blalock. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Jackson “A.J.” Hall, to whom she was married for 50 years; two sisters, Betty Sue Lott and Peggy Dill; and two sons-in-law, William “Billy” Carl Walker and Hansel Clester “H.C.” Spivey, Jr. She was a homemaker and, before retiring, she worked as a secretary. She was very involved with many charities and she was a very giving and forgiving person and would help people for no reason. She was a member of Tifton’s First Baptist Church for 80 years, having joined the church on November 29, 1942. She was a graduate of Tift County High School in the Class of 1953, where she was a majorette.

Mrs. Hall is survived by two daughters, Susan Hall Spivey and Donna Hall Walker, both of Tifton; one brother and sister-in-law, William “Bill” III and Lynn Blalock of Cumming; four grandchildren and their spouses, Chesley Neal Spivey and his wife Rebecca, Laura Walker Maxwell and her husband Landon, Lisa Walker Delk and her husband Michael, and Audrey Spivey Reed and her husband Kevin; eleven great-grandchildren, Andrew Spivey, Evelyn Spivey, Madsen Maxwell, Drue Maxwell, William Maxwell, Lucy Maxwell, Jaxson Hughes, Lilah Hughes, Rollie Delk, Caroline Reed and Michael Reed; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
