John David ‘Dave’ Wright, 71 of Lowell, passed away on Thursday, July 7, 2022 after a 23 year battle with cancer. He was the husband of Deborah A. (Gleason) Wright with whom he spent the past 28 years together and 11 years married.
He was born in Melrose, MA on April 20, 1951 and was the son of Doris (Silliker) Wright. He was raised in Tewksbury where he attended the area schools.
He was employed as a warehouse worker at the Coca-Cola warehouse for over 17 years before his retirement. He enjoyed fishing and football. He loved going to his moms house on Saturdays for coffee with his siblings. He loved his mom’s dog, Bella.
In addition to his wife, Deborah of Lowell, he is survived by his four sisters, Linda Donaghue and her husband, John of Tewksbury, Martha Foley of Florida, Heidi Tierney and her husband, Bruce of Lowell, and Barbara Hurley of Tewksbury; his brother, Scott Wright and his wife, Claudia of NH; and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his beloved pet bird ‘Buddy’ who has been by his side for the past 15 years.
He was predeceased by his sister, the late Susan Keohler.
On Saturday, July 16, 2022 all are welcome to attend his calling hours from 1-3 p.m. at McDonough Funeral Home, 14 Highland Street, Lowell 978-458-6816. His funeral service will take place at 3 p.m. in the funeral home.
