Marguerite “Maggie” Putnam, 67, formerly of Wayland, died comfortably surrounded by those she loved on Tuesday, July 5, 2022 following a long and courageous battle with cancer. Maggie was a warrior to the end, and we would all be fortunate to have an ounce of the inner strength and dignity she possessed.
She was born in Boston on August 17, 1954 the daughter of the late Carl Emerson Putnam and Edna (Wasem) Putnam.
Maggie is survived by a host of dear friends and associates who she held very close in her heart.
Maggie grew up in Wayland and has resided in Sudbury for the past seven years. She was also a longtime resident of the Marlborough and Hudson area.
Maggie graduated from Wayland High School with the Class of 1972 and attended the MGH School of Nursing. She was an administrative assistant and associated as a medical assistant at Leonard Morse Hospital in Natick in the Pulmonary Medicine Division. She also enjoyed working at Sudbury Nursery with the wholesale tree and shrub group. Later in her work life Maggie was an administrative assistant for many years with AGTL/Conam Inspection in Natick.
Maggie enjoyed time with her friends, being outdoors, camping, bird watching, befriending animals and playing cards with a competitive spirit. She had a smile for everyone, and it lit up the room. She loved her circle of friends, always welcoming and willing to help, and was a best friend to many. Maggie will be remembered for her sense of humor, her laugh that left a lasting impression on everyone and her warm outgoing personality. She will not be forgotten, she was one of a kind.
Memorial Visitations will be held on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (off Rt. 30), Cochituate Village, Wayland.
A Memorial Service celebrating her life will be held on Thursday, July 14, 2022 at
11:00 am at Community United Methodist Church, 5 Damon St (corner of Rt. 27 and Damon St), Cochituate Village, Wayland.
At Maggie’s request, interment with her parents will be private in Lakeview Cemetery.
