John L. Vaughn Jr., 97, of Anderson passed away on July 3, 2022 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Chesterfield following a brief illness.
He was born on April 24, 1925 in Smithville, Tennessee to John Sr. and Fannie (Clark) Vaughn. He served in the US Navy during World War II. He worked 30 years in production at Guide Lamp and retired in October 1982. He was a member of UAW 663. He enjoyed riding his bicycle.
He is survived by his three children, Barbara (Les) Souders, Sandy (Timothy) Hall and Gary (Debra) Vaughn; 6 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dorothy L. (Denson) Vaughn who passed away on Sept. 16, 2018; and ten siblings.
A funeral service will be at 2:00 pm on Friday, July 8, 2022 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Pastor Tom Castor officiating. Burial will follow at East Maplewood Cemetery.
The visitation will be from 1:00pm-2:00pm on Friday at the funeral home.
